Today we’d like to introduce you to Dwayne Burns ll.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

I think a lot of what has made me who I am today was innate in the sense that I always knew what I wanted out of life, and I followed those instincts starting at a young age… and then in my early 20s I faced a family tragedy, and my father ended his own life on May 5th, 2018, and it shifted my worldview and actually lead me to some degree to a state of mind that would three years later achieve some of the things I never thought was possible.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

I have overcome loneliness, fear, overwhelm, financial instability, Grief, constant failures, depression, trauma, ego and most importantly my own emotions. Our emotions dictate our roadmap because they infect our thoughts, in order for me to learn how to control my actions, I had to control my thoughts, and in order to control my thoughts I had to control my feelings.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I am the CEO of Eco Equity Company, America’s #1 Trusted Home Improvement Company, As a company, we specialize in Energy Efficiency and home improvements, anything from windows, HVAC, Patio Building, Doors, and New Flooring or cleaning. Personally, Ito be a part of the think I specialize in transforming the mindset and beliefs in everyday people and move them into a state of high performance! When I built Eco Equity Company with my friend and business partner “The Great Eman” our vision was to create a platform and organization centered around teaching entrepreneurship and setting a standard for “servant Leadership” in the corporate environment. I believe people love working with me not because we are the biggest company, or because we have the coolest technology, but because when people work with us, whether as general employees, independent contractors or customers, they know we care more about them as people than we care about making money… Not enough companies want to live up to servant leader archetype, and I think they believe it is incompatible with profitability or discipline and I simply disagree. I think to answer your question, I specialize in caring more and being committed enough to take pride and getting the desired outcome for the better of the group.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

The best piece of Advice I could give anyone reading this is to tell yourself the truth 100%, a lot of us lie to ourselves so much we eventually lose sight of who were are and what we want. Our pride or ego will prevent us from facing things about ourselves that are difficult to accept, and we can not change what we won’t accept. Let go of pride, arrogance, and the need to be better than others.Desire truth above all else and live up to it, because when you let go of who you are trying to impress, fool, or prove something too through a facade will leave a insatiable desire for real fulfillment burning in your heart, and just like the old proverb says the truth will set you free” accepting reality as it is instead of hoping or wishing it was different removes half the barriers preventing people from taking real action and control over their lives.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success to me is simply the material manifestation of planning for an outcome and actualizing those desires in the real world, and when those plans, and desires are congruent with improving the lives of the people around you, your family, friends and community, I would call that “success”. If success is just an end material result… like a car, watch, big house, it will be as meaningless as the paper you used to purchase it, success is about human connection and development, if success is still about money, you are still thinking too small, money is just a tool to make the world better in some way.

What’s next for you?

What is next for me is probably going to be one of the most meaningful things I accomplish in my life, I want to build a Regional Home Improvement Company that allows me to invest in my family, friends, and community in such a way that it provides me the opportunity to create more job opportunities, trade opportunities and the ability to be apart of the overall growth of my community at a larger scale. I see a ‘gap’ in provision among African American minorities and women where I don’t feel we have given our best effort in protecting the growth and opportunities available to us, I see it as a responsible to my community to lead from the front and serve them at the highest level. While personally I see the country as a whole as an extended community I want to see thriving, I see a need in the communities surrounding to be a voice for disciplined, accountable, servant leader men who will see to it that each member of the group is looked after. Not just for African Americans, but for all Americans in our community in need. I want to be a part of the group who brings communities closer together, the media does a great job at sowing division and creating barriers between people, and I want to be remembered as someone who was impartial and inspired the generations following me to continue the work of coming together.

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more.
