Today we’d like to introduce you to Ruben Stunner.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

I was born in 1984 with a passion to succeed. I graduated High School at the age of 17 in Houston Tx. I then furthered my education attending Media Tech. Institute in 2003, and became a certified Audio Engineer. Shortly after that, I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Communications in 2010. I then decided to sharpen my technical skills and enrolled in hands-on Tv production & Live broadcasting classes at a local cable Tv station (Houston Media Source). I completed several classes there such as Lighting & Sound Techniques, Advanced Camera & Tv Production, Live Broadcasting, Editing, and Media Literacy. I then became a certified Tv producer for HMSTV leading me to work on my own Tv show and projects. I was recognized as the first Hispanic photographer to have local cable Tv shows in multiple cities airing at the same time. Since then I held different positions such as Graphic Designer, Website Designer, Studio Manager, Photographer, Marketing/ Advertising, and Creative Director. I have had the opportunity to work with several magazines, Realtors, Brokers, websites, blogs, Tv shows, Radio shows, musicians, celebrities, models, fashion designers, boutiques, doctors, plastic surgeons, law firms, & business owners. I also played the role in coordinating many big events such as, fashion shows, media/ brand release parties, classes, charity events, art shows, networking mixers, celebrity booking, and more. Today I am more known for being the founder of Stunner Studios (a highly recognized photo, video, and podcast studio) in Houston Tx.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

One of the biggest challenges I faced was opening up my own 2000 sq. ft. studio. When I was first starting off, I had partners to help split all the costs at the smaller studios I was renting. When business started picking up for me I made the choice to go out on my own and open up a much bigger professional studio. The costs of purchasing all my own professional equipment along with the monthly studio rent got very expensive and overwhelming in the beginning. There were times I wasn’t sure if I could afford all the costs and overhead by myself, but I kept pushing through no matter the cost. After a lot of hard work and extreme dedication to my clients, my passion finally started to pay off!

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I like to think of myself as 1 man media army. I’ve been very successful in the content creation side of things, along with implementing my unique marketing strategies. I specialize in Photography, video production, graphic design, magazine publishing, and web design. I’ve had the privilege of working with very high profile clientele, such as multiple celebrities, corporate CEO’s, magazines, major business owners, plastic surgeons, doctors, lawyers, and very sought after influential professionals in the industry. I’m also well known in the entertainment and fashion industry as the partner and co-founder of ALPHA magazine.

The benefit of working with me, would be the 20 plus years of experience I’ve dedicated to this industry.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

My best advice would be to ask yourself what would you be doing in life if money didn’t exist? What would be your passion?

Once you find out your answer, do that same thing in real life and master it. Success will now come to you, once you’ve done that.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success to me, is basically just the recognition of your daily habits. Your daily routines are what determines your level of success.

What’s next for you?

I’m actually in the process of writing my first book. It’s basically all about the creative side of marketing and all the unique strategies and trends we will be seeing a lot of in this decade.

I’ve written content in the past for several magazines, and published hundreds of pages of magazines, but never an actual book that lets me express myself. Also I just finished up a new podcast suite at Stunner Studios where brands, businesses, and people in the industry can come and rent out. We have all the professional equipment they get to take advantage of when they rent it. Also, my business partner and I are taking the ALPHA magazine brand to the next level in the entertainment and fashion industry. We will be incorporating some amazing new content along with the newest web technology for both a great hard copy and online experience.
