Today we’d like to introduce you to Wendy Grela-M’Poko.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

My name is Wendy, but you can call me Yahbaba (it means show off my native language).

I was born in the Central African Republic on the floor in front of my two older sister so I’m super down to earth.

My family and I immigrants to the U. S. A when I was 5 years old. All I remember from my childhood were the times I got dolled up with a pretty dress and nice shoes.

That’s what I want to give to the world. Memories. Dolled up moments wearing pretty dresses and nice shoes.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

A diamond under pressure couldn’t compare.
I have been designing since 16.

Each year brought forth a new challenge and obstacles to fine tune my gifts.
Nowadays I know how I want my design to look and when I should release it.

At first I had challenges with picking the right fabric for the right design. I would try to go out the box and use furniture fabric to make coats etc. I don’t do that anymore.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

My work is kind of unorthodox.

I started with a couple collections but I soon got discouraged when my handmade creations got overlooked for sweatsuits with a logo.

Then I started making furs and coats. That’s when finally sold a $300 faux fur coat.
I was so happy but that wasn’t enough.

So I started designing shoes. I now feel at home!

I create a full look. From hats to dresses to handbags down to the shoes.

I specialize in occasional design. Any day can be a special occasion it’s what you make of it!

I see a gown on you right before you hit the red carpet or I can make your design for your big day!

I have no competition because I am genuine with my styles. And I care about how my clients look. Im in my own lane.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

My best piece of advise is to go where you’re needed and wanted!

Be patient every will fall in place. The right people will find you and come to YOU!

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success to me is being able to do what you want, when you want to, with the people love.

What’s next for you?

What’s next? The goal is to keep evolving I want my designs to be a household brand like Gucci or Louis Vuitton or better!

Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more.
