Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Newmark.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Growing up in a musical household, I first started DJing at the age of 12 by using some of my dad’s equipment. My first professional gig was at one of my middle schools dances. Joining the Army after high school, I’ve taken my DJing passion with me to every duty station that I was assigned to within my 28 year career doing clubs and private events. After building an entertainment resume, I was able to audition for the NFL Oakland Raiders to join their staff of Official game DJ’s. I was successful and through that opportunity opened many other djing doors.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Networking is the life blood within the entertainment industry. Expanding your professional network is vital to unlocking performance opportunities. Having to move due to a reassignment every 3 years and having to reestablish myself in the local community was often challenging and time consuming.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

After my time of being an Official DJ for the Oakland Raiders, I was given my current opportunity to being an on air radio personality on Palm Beach, Florida’s number radio station for Classic Hip-Hop and RnB, YO107.1. I was given my own weekend show and mixshow.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Never give up hope and continue to dream. Leave no stone unturned if it’s within your passion. Be a visionary and network with as many people that you can find, even if it’s not a direct link to your immediate goal.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

“Success” to me means simply doing what you want to do and accomplishing your short or long term goal.

Joining musical acts as their official touring DJ and performing in front of different crowds routinely. In the meantime, continue my weekend radio show.
