Today we’d like to introduce you to ShaBarbara E. McDaniel MD, FACOG.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Thank you, I’m a Board-Certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist in New York City. For the last 29 years I’ve worked exclusively in Women’s Health. However, despite being an expert, a specialized Physician in Women’s Medicine, after my 5th pregnancy (4th child), I’d gained 105 pounds. The last 20 pounds, had been AFTER breast feeding my youngest child for a YEAR. Going from a cute size 6 at 145 pounds, to a mortifying 250 pounds Mom of 4 was demoralizing. As a physician I should’ve had my weight and health together but it was obvious I didn’t! Despite what the medical establishment supports, I had a suspicion that hormones played a role in my excess flab. After 2 years of research on pregnancy, hormones, menopause, weight, and self-trial and error, I lost over 65 pounds in that time frame. Furthermore, over the successive 5 years I’ve continued to lose weight and improve my health. I was able to achieve my weight loss and health goals with-out taking pills, drinking shakes, counting calories and no exercise. Once I’d unlocked the key to MY hormonal weight gain and weight loss, I started sharing the pathway to success with patients in my medical practice with SUCCESS. On the heels of that success with in-office patients, I began mentoring other women virtually via my program, “The Hormonal Weight-Loss Solution.”

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

The biggest challenge was really just shedding the mental cloak of the medical establishment “party-line” and seeking an answer and solution to a problem that’s been deemed “non-existent.” The Medical World at large does not support the concept of “hormonal-induced weight gain” and would rather blame the individual for just being unable to push away from the table.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

As stated, I’m an Obstetrician-Gynecologist practicing in Manhattan since 1993. I’ve used my 29 years of being a “go-to” Physician in Women’s Health, in addition to 5 years of concentrated research, and lastly, application not only to myself but to appropriate Women in my private medical practice, to guide Women to their goals of weight loss and improved health. This trifecta of being a medical doctor, uncovering the true hormonal source of weight gain and proving in practice how to fight against it, makes working with me head and shoulders superior to other options currently available.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Well to focus on “success” in terms of improving your health, losing weight, and simply living a long quality life with sound mind and body, my advice is to essentially “step back.” Meaning, the key is to step back in time to maybe 200 years ago and eat non-processed foods, fresh healthy greens, seasonal fruits, fatty fish, minimal protein from grass-fed and pasture-raised animals, and anti-inflammatory options such as green tea, dark chocolate and healthy oils such as coconut, olive, and avocado. With these changes, in the correct balance and format, one will see a huge improvement in mental, emotional, and physical health.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

On the definition of success, I agree with the words of Earl Nightingale, in that “success” is “the progressive realization of a worthy goal or idea.” As such, success for any woman starts with her taking action, and moving forward in her health journey of anti-inflammation and hormonal balance to take back control of her body, emotions, and her life!

What’s next for you?

To expand the health and weight-loss coaching program, “The Hormonal Weight-Loss Solution” which promises improved health and at least 20 pounds lost in the first 6 weeks, by enrolling a minimum of one hundred women this year.
